As we return to school, we will start new protocols during the coronavirus crisis.
We are implementing new policies following the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) Guidance
for Childcare Programs to keep our families and staff safe and healthy.
*Stay home if you or your child are sick. Please click here to see our COVID-19 sick policy.
*Everyone over the age of 6 must wear a mask when entering the preschool building.
Masks will be available for purchase.
Drop off times will be between 7:00am and 9:00 am. We will have check in desks set up inside the east and west entrances to conduct health checks for anyone entering the building. We only allow one family inside the check in area at a time. Please limit the number of people that you bring to the preschool to drop off, as this will help reduce wait times.
We will conduct enhanced health screenings for children, staff,
and all who enter the preschool building. We will ask a few health
questions and take the
temperature of everyone who comes into the building using a non-contact thermometer.
Lunches will go directly into your child’s cubby. This will help prevent cross-contamination.
We will no longer refrigerate
or heat any food brought into
the preschool. An ice pack can
be used to keep food cold,
and a thermos can be used to keep food warm. Breastmilk
and formula will be kept in the classroom refrigerator and warmed.
We will discontinue our family style dining practice to reduce the spread of germs at mealtime. Teachers will serve snacks to the children while wearing gloves. Teachers will continue to sit with the children while they are eating to supervise and prevent contamination or sharing of food. Family style dining will be implemented again once it is approved by the Department of Health Services.
We will continue to follow our regular handwashing, cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting procedures. Classroom materials will be rotated to ensure they are cleaned often and properly,
and we will intensify cleaning
and disinfecting of high-touch surfaces (tables, doorknobs, faucets, chairs, cubbies, playground equipment, etc.)
We will practice social distancing as much as possible to reduce risk. Our class schedules will be staggered so there is limited contact between classes on the playground, activity room and the hallway. Cots and cribs will be placed 6 feet apart during
nap time, if possible.
Additional teacher and staff training is occurring to ensure the CDC's guidelines are being followed. Staff members entering the room to deliver snacks or to give a break will wear masks and wash their hands as soon as they enter the classroom. Staff will be required to wear masks in the classroom and in common areas. They, however, will be allowed to remove their masks on the playground and in their own classroom when they are able to socially distance 6ft from all children and other staff.
Sensory bins in the classroom, playground carts, and outside sand tables will not be used during this time.
